So long and thanks for all the fishposted Sep 17th 2007, 9:02AM
I’ve decided that I’m leaving sheezy. I’m not doing this to escape any so-called “persecution” or as the result of some e-drama that plagues this site, I’m doing simply because there’s no point in my being here.
I’ve been putting this off for a few reasons, but now I see that I’m only doing myself more harm by putting it off. One of my main reasons for not leaving is because I don’t have anywhere else to host my artwork, but after thinking on this for a while, I realized that I don’t need it hosted anywhere, simply because I don’t update. Yes, I may update with some prose or fractal art every once in a while, but my photography stagnates because I don’t have the time or resources to continue with it. This is the reason I created a profile here, so it makes little sense to continue without it.
Another reason I’ve put off leaving is because I wish to continue viewing the works of the artists I watch. This is also now moot, since a great deal of the people I watch are inactive (or post less artwork than I do, which is sad to say the least), or they simply spam my updates with pointless journals, or crappy pictures that take less time to create than they do to upload. Add to this that I can easily continue viewing the people whose work I still enjoy without a profile; it leaves even less incentive to stay.
I would implore anyone who reads this to try to improve the quality of Sheezyart, because as it is right now, the community is slowly festering. The fault does not lie solely with the b-tards that spam the forums and each other’s artwork, but it also lies with the uptight people with no sense of humor. Find a middle ground, and keep it, for all our sakes.
I will leave my artwork up for the rest of the week, and then I will delete it. I may come back to this site, but know that it will not be for a long time. If and when that day comes, I hope to find a SA to better place than I left it.
